Apple’s 2025 iPhone lineup will not feature a smaller Dynamic Island as previously rumored. The pill-shaped island’s size will apparently remain unchanged.
Apple ditched the notch and switched to Dynamic Island with the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022.
Dynamic Island may not shrink on this year’s iPhone
A rumor from early 2023 indicated that Apple could move to under-display Face ID technology to shrink Dynamic Island in 2024. However, that did not happen with the iPhone 16 Pro.
In early March 2023, Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, claimed that the company would have to delay under panel Face ID to 2025 or later iPhones due to sensor issues.
Now, TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims in a post on X that the Dynamic Island size will remain unchanged on the iPhone 17 series. This means that, at least from the front, Apple’s 2025 iPhone is unlikely to sport any major design changes. It might sport slimmer bezels, but that’s all.
預期2H25 iPhone 17系列的動態島大小幾乎沒什改變
I expect the Dynamic Island size to remain largely unchanged across the 2H25 iPhone 17 series

The company may adopt a new Corning cover glass for the iPhone 17’s display with a “super-hard anti-reflective layer” and superior scratch resistance. But this won’t visually change the phone’s look from the front.
iPhone 17 could pack big rear design changes
While the front design of the iPhone 17 might remain unchanged, the rear could get significant tweaks.
Rumors suggest Apple may switch to a “part-aluminum, part-glass design” design for the rear, with a camera bar similar to the Google Pixel lineup at the top. Apple could also give up on the titanium body and switch to aluminum.
