The PNY PRO Elite V3 is a newly launched mobile SSD that holds terabytes and can transfer data at up to 1000MB/s. But perhaps its standout feature is price: the 2TB variant comes in at $145.
And PNY also just introduced two other speedy USB-C drives that top out at 256GB but also cost under $25.
PNY PRO Elite V3: Fast and (relatively) cheap storage
The best thing to happen to flash drives is USB 3.2 Gen 2. SSDs that support this standard can move large files around quickly, whether that’s a single multi-gigabyte video or a hefty collection of documents. The USB standard means computers can read data on the PNY PRO Elite V3 at up to 1000MB/s and write data to the SSD at up to 800MB/s.
PNY says the drive was “crafted for professional content creators, designers, and gamers demanding high performance while working with large files and resource-demanding applications.”
It includes a metal casing rather than the usual plastic, and the USB-C connector is protected by a
sliding cap. That’s also an integrated key loop.
USB-C means it’s compatible with all Macs, most iPads and many recent iPhones. Windows and ChromeOS, too. That makes it well suited for moving files between computers.
The PNY PRO Elite V3 launched on Tuesday. As noted, the 2TB version comes in at $144.99. They’re are also 1TB, 512GB and 256GB versions.

For comparison, the 2TB Samsung T9 SSD costs $179.99 and is considerably bulkier.
New Elite-X Fit and Elite flash drives, too
In addition, PNY introduced two lower capacity — and lower priced — USB-C flash drives on Tuesday, as noted previously.
Elite-X Fit emphasizes small size, measuring only an inch long. Its read speed goes up to 200MB/s, and write speed goes up to 100MB/s. The 256GB variant costs $24.99.

PNY’s new Elite USB-C flash drive emphasizes lost cost. Its 256GB variant costs $17.99, but is not yet available.
