Zocks, an AI-powered notetaker and automated assistant platform for advisors, has hired Matt Halloran, co-founder and former chief relationship officer at ProudMouth, as chief evangelist.
Halloran stepped down from his role at ProudMouth, which helps advisors with digital marketing efforts across podcasts, videos and social media, last month, citing his wife’s health difficulties.
In the newly created role, Halloran has been tasked with leading education efforts around artificial intelligence adoption for advisors. He’ll develop content and programs to help advisors better implement AI in their practices.
“Right now, AI is the biggest lever advisors have to reclaim their time and focus on what really matters to them, in business and in life,” Halloran said in a statement. “My job is simple: show how AI solves real problems advisors deal with every day, and help them use it without losing the human connection that makes this profession meaningful.”
Halloran has over 25 years in the financial advisor space. He co-founded ProudMouth in 2017 alongside CEO Kirk Lowe. Prior to that, Halloran was running his own advisor coaching firm, Top Advisor Coaching. Before that, he served as a practice management consultant with Peak Advisor Alliance, the previous name for Carson Group’s coaching division.
Zocks was launched in 2024 by Mark Gilbert, a former Twilio, Microsoft and Hearsay executive and product leader, and Akos Ratku, a former engineering leader from Hearsay. In March, the company raised $13.8 million in a Series A round led by Motive Ventures (it raised a $5.5 million seed round early on).
Several big firms in the industry use Zocks for AI notetaking, including Carson Group, Osaic, Kestra Financial, Commonwealth and Ameritas.
Zocks (and several competitors) performed well during recent testing by the advisor technology consultancy Oasis Group.
Disclosure: WealthManagement.com works with ProudMouth to produce the brand’s podcasts.
